  • Awful Homage To Hollywood Musicals

Terrible songs. Even worse acting. It’s too bad this younger generation doesn’t understand why it’s so bad. Watch some old classic Hollywood musicals and you’ll see why this didn’t do any of them justice. How anyone could think Emma Stone deserves any type of award other than the Raspberry is beyond me. It was forced and the music never quite fit the plot of the film. Even the opening sequence dance number was so bizarrely out of place it’s amazing it got anywhere with test audiences. This one is for the trash can.
  • La La Land

Before watching this film, I somewhat agreed with a close friend that it was made specifically to obtain the Golden Globe and Oscar awards. However, upon watching the film La La Land, my attitude completely changed to the point that I must give this film a full five star rating. A masterpiece! My liking to this film is so large that till this day, I still look for jazz clubs of the kind that the film uses, which I know exist somewhere in the state or country, but unsure exactly where so I can find that special someone and live the rest of my life and true happiness.
  • At first thought I'd hate it

I didn't even want to try to give it a chance at first, because I usually hate movie with songs (especially Disney ones) one night I gave it a chance it blew me away the soundtracks the acting and the ending I just love it.
  • Beyond Absolutely Wonderful!

La La Land is just beautiful, amazing, a lot of good words. The cast did a great job, the music was fantastic. Damian Chazelle did a great job directing this masterpiece. The first half was great, the second half was also great and has unexpected plot twists. The chemistry between Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling was priceless. I listen to the soundtrack everyday and it makes me feel good so watch both movie and listen to the soundtrack. La La Land is a wonderful masterpiece. I definitely would recommend you to go see this movie. Everyone has to watch this movie at one point in there lives. You'll love it! If I can give it more than 5 stars I would do it. 10/10
  • AMAZING/Refreshing!!!

This film is both amazing and refreshing at the same time. The style of the film has an incredible mix of nostalgia and modernism. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s performance is unbelievable. I highly recommend it!
  • Pretentious

Over-hyped, this might be worth a rental, but as I write this, Apple is offering it only as "BUY ONLY" at $20. I recommend "PASS" until a much cheaper rental becomes available. Hold out for a 99 cent sale; that's about what it is worth. If you watch the trailers you might conclude this is a happy romantic film, but it doesn't have an happy ending, and you might actually wind up sadder than before you watched it...

  • It affects me for weeks after I watch it

So this movie just became available on On Demand and when I watch it, it affects me for weeks... it is beautiful and wonderful and so powerful. Here’s the mechanics, the movie’s plot line plays out like a song except the moments of tension and relaxation are prolonged over the course of the length of time a movie provides compared to the length of a song. Think of the moment when a song gives you goosebumps and drag that out over 15 minutes or so. That’s Lala Land. Completely unreal movie experience and there are very few movies that I like.
