  • A Great Way to Send Wolverine Off

    By iWantTeenTitansSeason6
This is the last time we will ever see Hugh Jackman portray Wolverine so, of course, Marvel had to send him off with a bang... no, not a bang, a supernova. This is an amazingly dark and gritty movie that is filled with emotion although there is a weak secondary villain (X-24 AKA Wolvie's evil clone). Although a bit cliché and a movie that featured most of our favorite X-Men characters either dying or seriously injured, including Professor X and Wolverine himself, this movie also could potentially lead to a new generation of X-Men, including possibly Deadpool, meaning more X-Men movies. Hugh Jackman has portrayed Wolverine for many, many years and, by far, this was his best portrayal of our favorite X-Men hero, possibly since it was his last. The rest of the cast is phenomenal and the chemistry between said cast is the cream of the crop in the film industry, the type of chemistry that you want your cast to have. Although the plot can drag a bit and is full of cliché after cliché, the acting and emotional end of the film more than make up for the predictable plot. The action is, truly, some of the goriest and most violent in ANY superhero movie to date, possibly with the exception of Deadpool and, maybe, The Dark Knight trilogy, which I really enjoy and which I feel enhances an otherwise lackluster and predictable plot. I have seen Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine, Jean Valjean, and many other characters, including a portrayal of himself but this reprise of Wolverine isn't only his best performance as Wolverine... it may be one of, if not, his best performances on the big screen. The emptiness of his soul and the emotional death of Wolverine really sting the heart, especially for a person who had grown up with the X-Men movies and the movie is very thought-provoking. It made me wonder how it would feel if I gave up hope on life, if I felt as if I couldn't keep a promise, and how I would feel if everyone I loved was in danger and it was all my fault. This movie is, was, and always will be a classic ending to a beloved character and a reminder of the amazing performance of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Rating : 100/10

This is how hero movies should be done: serious, not commercial nor child-like. Really recommended!
