Jon Baker (Dax Shepard) and Frank “Ponch” Poncherello (Michael Peña) have just joined the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Los Angeles but for very different reasons. Baker is a beaten-up pro motorbiker trying to put his life and marriage back together. Poncherello is a cocky undercover Federal agent investigating a multi-million dollar heist that may be an inside job — inside the CHP. The inexperienced rookie and hardened pro are teamed together, but clash more than click, so kickstarting a partnership is easier said than done. But with Baker’s bike skills combined with Ponch’s street savvy it might just work…if they don’t drive each other crazy along the way.

  • Excellent comedy

Dax Shepard and Michael Pena are fantastic. Dialogue is snappy, multiple scenes are downright hilarious and the story line has enough girth to pull you through. I have watched it three times. Way better than any of the other reboots I’ve seen like Starsky or Baywatch...this is in a totally different ballpark from a comedy perspective.

Probably for a younger audience. I would say it was the worst movie I have ever watched. Can I get my $5 rental money back?

So my expectaions were not high. And I watched the movie because there was really nothing else I could stomach. But, with all that said, it was a darn good movie. Nothing to do with the TV series, but still a very funny film with back-to-back scenes full of humor. I think the critics gave Dax and Co an unfair shake. Its a solid piece of adult comedy and defiitley worth watching.
  • My Inner 12 Year Old LOVED It

I'm 44. I grew up on shows like CHiPs on television. But I don't hold them up as some beacon of goodness that need never be dishonored. It's a tv show, don't be silly. This movie was far funnier than I expected. It has great action scenes throughout. It features two great comedic actors (three if you count Kristen Bell in a lesser role) doing what they do...make you laugh. If you're not too uptight about it being a homage to the original & you still are in touch with your inner child, this movie is worth the money.

This movie was one of those slapstick comedies...not even really funny...just stupid funny. It wasn a horrible definitely was not a great movie. It ruined the original TV show. The TV show always had a good story behind was wholesome...something the family could watch...what were they thinking when they made this movie ? Don't even bother to rernt this at $ was THAT bad....
