Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne. When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

I hope they make a part 2. I really enjoyed this movie. I don't care what the critics say. Great acting above all.

  • Welcome back Guy

I'd forgotten how much I'd missed Ritchie from his Snatch and Lock Stock days. And with age you realize that there's no director with his same style. Sure, like John Woo and his pigeons, he seems to be all in on the sparks from fires, but this is LOLR level budget and he delivers an expansive reboot of Arthur. Good enough that I want to watch again.

  • I honesty don't know why....

I honestly don't know why people hate this movie. I mean it's no Lord of the Rings, but it's a good, enjoyable fantasy movie. (I will say that it is very very very loosly based on the different stories of King Arthur. So I guess if you're expecting a perfect adapation of the stories, don't watch this. If you expect the books, go read the books.)
  • Not just bad, Boring

You can't always trust critics but I don't think they were harsh enough on this one. If someone you know tells you this movie was good, you can safely assume they have terrible taste in movies. The characters were paper thin. There's way too much editing and bad cgi that takes up a lot of time but amounts to about 30 mins worth of story. Im a Guy Ritch fan but this is easily his worst film. Dont waste 2 hrs.
  • It was better then the critics made it out to be

I always take the critics' reviews with a grain of salt, what they don't like I usually end up liking and what they like I sometimes end up not liking too much. Besides I wanted to watch this since the first trailer came out. True the shaking camera effect was too much in some of the fight scenes, to the point that I couldn't even see what was going on but I like the movie. The sassy-ness of the main character was spot on, added the right sprinkle of humor. I didn't notice this until the end but the main characters' name was never mentioned (until the end) which I thought was actually refreshing. I think I would actually buy this movie.
  • Oof turned it off after 20 minutes

    By Dude 42
Was hoping for some good, dumb fantasy fun. Instead it was just so bad we had to turn it off after 20 minutes or so and find something more rewarding to do with our time.
