Description

Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne. When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

Love Guy Ritchie, but with the exception of one or two scenes the movie felt extremely flat. I’m open to the new tone, but would have been cooler if Jude Law’s character looked human (but with powers) than some demon. Arthur’s journey at some point in the movie felt extremely pointless. The beginning of the film showing Arthur as a young man was pretty drawn out and once again pointless for plot development. A lot of pointless with poor plot development, some cool and emotional scenes (all on Jude Law’s Vortigern side) and some typical Guy Ritchie banter/camera work.

This movie was really good! The critics have lost their sense of imagination and don't allow for room for originality in retellings- since most of what we do now are repeats. If you're hoping this is like the stories of King Arthur, then you may not like this either. However, if you are open to a retelling of King Arthur and have a love of dark fantasies, then this is definitely your movie.

I would have seen this in the theatre if I knew it was out. Great actors Best directing Unique script for a King Arthur story. And the Oscar goes to... No movie I have ever loved.

It's a film for men in America, that have been trivialized by American culture. It's very inspiring for men, and there aren't many left in America, so this film will get mostly bad ratings. If you are a Man, then the beginning is slow and painful, but if you can accept the feminine, fantasy crap, like most of us can survive to have sex with the hot ones here, then you'll be ok. It isn't a great film in any way, other than special effects, which seems to be the norm nowadays. It's a film for the few, with the special effects to wow the idiots, with a message for the best of us. It's hard to find positive messages in Hollywood nowadays. I hope my review isn't a death sentence for the production crew or cast.
