Sins from the past return to terrorize the present in this shocker from the producer of HALLOWEEN. When recent college grad Regan goes to a family’s house to babysit their daughter for the weekend, she invites her three best gal pals along. What starts as a girls’ getaway becomes a journey into hell, as the young women discover the house is haunted by a dark and violent history involving a Nazi (WISHMASTER's Andrew Divoff), his daughter, and an ancient artifact that feeds on fear.

This movie was amazing. Please don't listen to the negative reviews. Definitely worth watching. The movie does start off slow but it gets better and lots of scares to be had. Loved it.

  • Suckered by the Preview!

I actually thought this movie might be decent thanks to a well edited preview--- the scene with the little girl under the bed. Too bad that was the best part of the movie. Not scary at all. Bad practical effects as well as bad CGI effects does not make for a good horror movie. I couldn't tell if the acting was really bad or it was just the insanely horrible dialogue... probably a combo of both. Seriously, incredibly bad, bad, dialogue made the whole movie distracting everytime someone spoke, since it was poorly written and generally stupid. At one point the child actress got confused and yelled out her own name..... I kid you not... I even went back, put on subtitles and verified... yup, she yelled for her babysitter using her own name. Ugh. The ending was really bad.... like oops we ran out of money... screen goes black, bad. Really... the lead actress wasn't concerned what happened to her other friends in the slightest, or even try in any way to help the dude she knew?! That part was hilarious at the end, when she basically took off without a second thought.... When the little girl asked about Virgil, the lead should have said "F#*k, him! We're not that close!" At least it would have been some comic relief and explain what a huge doucheb*tch she was for not giving a crap about anyone else (except sort of the kid, but I think she was still hoping to get paid by someone). Overall..... Avoid! And especially don't pay to see this.... unless you want to laugh during the last 6 minutes.
  • Complete Garbage!!!!

This is the worst horror film I've watched in the past 20 years! The acting was terrible! It was literally 40 minutes of 4 vocal fried, valley college girls drinking wine, continually pushing their hair back behind their ears and talking about how creepy the house was. It belongs in the $1 bin at Walmart! Do not pay for this movie! iTunes owes me my 5.99 rental fee back!
  • This had so much potential

Just went flat. Preview had the best scene. Acting meh, plot just didn't achieve anything. Storyline had so many possibilities, but just teased the moviegoer and offered nada. Don't waste your time or money.
  • Who green-lights this crap?!?

Incredible ... as in not credible ... script, root-canal level overacting, Christmas special lighting and cinematography, dime-store SFX, and a score unworthy of a afternoon matinee Lifetime soap ... not even B-movie entertaining, just bad.
  • Just don't!! I only gave it one star cause there isn't a zero star option.

Huge horror fan here. I can usually find something good about any scary movie but not this one. This is the worst movie ever. Don't waste your time. So disappointed that I actually spent money on it.
  • Don't Watch It Alone!

This is one of the most atmospheric horror movies I've seen in a long time. For anyone in a strange house for the first time, possibly babysitting, this will freak you out!
  • Beware of reviewers who haven't seen the film!

This is one of the best independent horror films of the past several years. It's a good story, and it's well-told. The script is generally tight. The acting is excellent. The film carries along at a healthy clip, and it doesn't bog itself down trying to reinvent the genre, which some films do. "The Hatred" is a good flick and worth rental or purchase, a worthy addition to any horror film collection.
