  • This is an inspiring movie

    By Nick McGuire
This movie Inspired me to learn more about the blood shed that happened on July 1-3 1863. Another movie that is just like this is "Gods and Generals" which also inspired me more to learn more about the Civil War. If you put a bad review on this movie shame on you a lot of men died to save this country this movie reminds you about what happened 151 years ago from when this review was made. So please help make this a five star movie.
  • One of the best movies I've seen

    Great Movie, a must buy
  • Overbearing Score

    By Ted Hershey
The score in this film never lets up and its manipulative nature is readily apparent, especially if you are more likely to view war as horrific instead of something to be glorified. The score, in all cases, does the second. The film itself comes close to supporting Lost Cause of the Confederacy views on the cause of the war.
  • A Great Movie

Any history and war enthusiast should see this movie. It is very well done from the details, to the acting, to the score. Anyone who knows nothing about the Civil War or US history should see this to get a real idea of what this battle meant. The Civil War was a pivotal moment in our history, this movie allows for some depth into that topic. It is a shame they didn't get to finish the series.
  • All Time Classic

A wonderful movie which inspires admiration for all those involved in this great battle, whatever side. It is both moving and epic and tries to recreate the story with as much honesty and integrity as possible. There is no right or wrong side here ..... Simply brave men willing to die for what they believe in. Prepare to be astonished and swept away with the bravery that can be contained in any honest man's heart.

    By Kim Giese
It is probuly the best and most accurate civil war movie ever everybody in the movie looks like they did back then and it respects both the union and confederates. Like it doesn't favor a side it just shows what it was like there on those three days.

It has always been one of my favorite movies. After having recently visited the Gettysburg National Military Park, I am going to watch it again. I actually stood on and walked around the Devil's Den, the Wheatfield, Peach Orchard and, especially, Little Round Top. It was a very emotional experience and during my 2 days there, scenes from this movie kept playing in my mind.
