This was the first time I saw the movie. For it being released in 1982, I wasn't putting my hopes up. But dude! This was totally bitchin! Very action packed and believeable world. I really felt for the characters. Funny how in 2 years LA won't be like this though...

Anything I write will have already been written 100 times about this film. I was just 6 when it released into theaters. This was one of the first laser discs we had, yes pre VHS technology. It wasn't until I was older and had seen it about 100 times that it finally sunk in. The narrative is still relevant today. The original cut was the best cut, there's something to be said for instinct and this was the cut they felt was best for telling the story to a paying audience. I wonder if Ridley Scott had any idea, any at all that he was making a legendary, instant classic when he filmed this movie? Just another notch on Harrison's belt, but easily one of his best.
  • Warning: not director's cut

Save your money, I am livid that I am stuck with the voiceover. Many people like the narrated version, but that was forced on by the studio. The director's cut without the narration and happy ending is much more evocative. Wish I could get my money back.

An amazing, one-of-a-kind film. Ridley Scott's magnum opus.

... in 2017. I don't get the hype. This film was horribly boring. Don't waste your time. Turn around now and watch something else.
  • Why is the release date 2013 and not 1982?

    By TheBrianAnderson
One of the best films ever made. It was made in one of the best decades for music; the 1980's. It stars one of the best actors of all time; Harrison Ford. It is directed by one of the best directors of all time; Ridley Scott. It's based on a book written by one of the best authors of all time; Phillip K. Dick.

  • Best sci-fi movie

    By Happyfuntime2
The original theatrical release. This is what you want. Watch this first then the tinkered versions. You may read Scott wanted things different, thus the other versions. I say see them all, but start with this. Film noir - check. Science - check. Cop drama - check. Amazing cinematography - check. Great writing and directing - check. How can a science fiction movie made so long ago still look so good?
