Description

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

Really? Can I give it a negative star? Sure, its all Joy's fault for screwing up a life and "her" responsibility to fix it. Everyone must only be joy. No! Dang, don't ever wear glasses, seems to make you a loser (it doesn't, btw). Depression is not only female, it is not blue. Did I mention that sadness/depression is not a female character in your head? Depression is a problem facing all humans, not only women. Make believe "female emotions" are portrayed to be weak and drive this "movie." Head shake. Anger and fear are men, are "strong", and disgust is a chick, seriously? A story could be written to tackle the agony of "growing up" way more intelligently. (I moved multiple times as a female kid, nope, didn't ever feel anything like this attempt at a movie)

I’ve had this movie in my library for several months now, and while the movie itself works just fine, I can’t get the short films to play which really annoying!
