It's bound to be a white Christmas with this classic! From creator Charles M. Shultz and producer Bill Melendez, it's A Charlie Brown Christmas. Not only does this timeless special have the distinction of warming hearts young and old, but it has won both an Emmy® and a Peabody Award. Whether you are seeing this holiday masterpiece for the first time or the first time in years, you have doubtless heard of that ol' blockhead Charlie Brown and the little tree that could. Filled with mythology as the gang tries to put on a holiday play, kids big and small will end up with a pretty decent dance party, a lesson for the ages, and some good old-fashioned fun. As for the tree … it's amazing what a little love can do. A Charlie Brown Christmas originally aired on television on December 9th, 1965. It was later re-mastered in 2008.

Charlie Brown is the ultimate icon of realism. He represents any compassionate soul who wanders aimlessly around this planet somewhat confused as to why all the chaos is going on around him or her. A soul who sympathises with the lost and forlorn whilst the rest of the world is caught up with materialism and vanity. This classic Peanuts Special remains just as relevant today as it did back in the December of 1965 when it recieved it's first airing on US television. It has since earned itself a special place in many a heart and is as essential festive viewing as such classics like It's a Wonderful Life and Scrooge with Alastair Sim. It opens with the sound of the beautiful song " Christmas Time is Here " over a montage of the Peanuts gang ( including Snoopy ) ice skating on the lake and Charlie Brown is walking with Linus pondering over why he doesn't feel happy at Christmas, sure, he loves getting presents and sending cards etc but still doesn't feel happy. It takes Linus, to give the true meaning of Christmas during a run through of the Peanuts gang Christmas play. The ambience of the music and the animation truly gives over a wonderful sense of nostalgia, and anybody who loves Christmas, regardless of whether it is a celebration of faith or simply the festive vibe, should watch this simple and timeless classic, as they truly don't make them like this anymore.
