Description

In this epic adventure thriller, a family struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology – computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights – has mysteriously blacked out … forever. A grand romantic saga with sweeping scope and intimate focus, this drama is seen through the eyes of one strong-willed young woman, Charlie Matheson (Tracy Spiridakos), and her brother, Danny (Graham Rogers). When Danny is kidnapped by militia leaders for a darker purpose, Charlie must reconnect with her estranged uncle Miles (Billy Burke), a former marine, living a reclusive life. Together, with a rogue band of survivors, they set out to rescue Danny, overthrow the militia and ultimately re-establish the United States of America - all the while, exploring the mystery of why the power failed, and if (or how) it will ever return.

  • Brainless plotting

The end of technological civilization could have been an interesting plot device. All electric power vanishes--including analogue devices? OK, so it would have been interesting to build a series about how people adapt to having to live a pre-1900 lifestyle all of a sudden. Nope. Instead, they fast forward 15 years, so they can get into a plot that involves bad guys attacking our good guys every five minutes. Meanwhile, everyone is clean and tidy, they have hot drinks but no bicycles, they are evidently surviving on a tiny plot of corn that grows in their cul-de-sac, no one has thought to breed horses for transportation, and even though they live within a couple of days' walk of Chicago--where the bar has a satellite feed--there is nothing about how they survive the winters. Oh, and there's a mixed-race villain who wants to take away all the guns. I wanted to like this, but I gave up after two episodes.

Not in a good way, the world is supposed to be in chaos yet the girls hair is always perfectly done, and not a spot of dirt on her face, acting to serious to take her seriously. save your money, buy True Detectives if you want to see good tv.

Season one in my humble opinion, was very good and had a nice flow to it. The show always did a great job with the flashbacks shown both before the blackout and the subsequent years post-blackout up to the current year (2030?) But I think the show focused too little on Arron who was easily the most "messiah" like individual on the show. He was flawed and complex like all humans are capable of being, but he was the only one who repeatedly offered and attempted to sacrifice himself for one of the other main characters (Charlie and Nora plus others) while only resorting to violence when afraid for his and more often his loved ones safety and wellbeing are at stake.

I have been reading comments that say this show is unrealistic because of the fact that they have guns, cleanleness, and nice hair. Guns would still work because they don't require power. Cleanleness would still be possible because of the fact that you can heat water with a fire. Nice hair is possible because you could cut your hair without power. I get my hair cut with scissors, not clippers. This show is truely amazing and I hope NBC keeps it around for more than two seasons.

The idea behind Revolution was good but all around poor execution in almost every field. Nothing much to add beyond that

This show is so bad, Itunes won't even let me post what I really think of it.
